Check out these awesome snaps of a past winner 96FM flew to see Elton John in 1984.
Now, these are the stories we absolutely live for at 96FM.
Karen Newman got in touch with us to share her story of being a past winner – and the photos are pure, unadulterated nostalgia.
“In 1984, I was the lucky winner of the trip to London to see Elton John at the old Wembley Stadium,” she said in an email.
“We wore our 96FM windcheaters everywhere and had an amazing time.”

Ms Newman and her husband Graham were flown to London to The Summer of '84 Concert, which sounded like a ripper.
“It featured Paul Young, Kool and the Gang, Nik Kershaw and Wang Chung as well as Elton John,” she recalled.
“We were seated in the Special Enclosure with John Reid and his family and other notables although we weren't near them.”
John Reid was the former manager for Elton, as well as Queen.

The record label Polygram looked after Karen and Graham incredibly well, hooking the pair up with tickets to Neil Diamond, Status Quo and the Poitier Sisters.
Ms Newman signed off saying 96FM 40th anniversary had brought back many memories, spending a whole morning going through her photo albums to share them.
“We were avid listeners from the start.”
